Thank you Callandor, that was exactly the answer I needed. I had tried everything else, and was considering that the BIOS reset might be needed. Worked like a charm!

Browse All TopicsHello, I have an MSI KM2M Combo series mobo that I have been using for about 3 years
now with a Duron 900 (Palomino core) FSB speed 100 (no overclocking). I recently got
hold of an Athlon XP 2400+ processor, a pull from another PC.
This board can support all the way up to XP 2600+ with a 133 (266) FSB speed, and the
XP 2400+ uses the 133(266)FSB setting, so I should be good to go with this processor,
but I was wondering, what speed rating will my memory need to be? Will my current
memory which I believe is either DDR 133 (it has chips that based on the part no. are rated at 133 mhz). Will I need to upgrade my memory also?
Also, if my unit doesn't boot with my current memory and the 2400+ with the FSB set at
100(200), and it does with the 900 (I'm current using it...) is it more like the processor?
Thanks in advance..

If your cpu is recognized or you set it manually, the memory will run at 133FSB (DDR266), which combined with a 15x multiplier results in 2GHz cpu speed. When you change the cpu, try resetting the BIOS afterwards to force it to be recognized.
