FAN NOISE

Hi There all

I have a dell poweredge 2650 server which I use as a homeserver, its great but it does sound like a jet aircraft taking off, I know its a server and noise is not an issue in a data centre but i've been trying to remedy the noise situation.

I've removed the riser card fan and the two system fans and the ssytem temps are ok (cpu about 40 and riser about 45) but the problem is that the warning light comes on on the front panel which looks naff .I've also replaced the fans with quieter items but the ESM does not see them as they don't spin fast enough to be within the threshold values.

So the question is does anyone know of a replacement fan for this system that will spin fast enough and still be quiet?
Or, is there any way to modify the threshold values in the server ESM?

I've got the latest Bios and ESM/Backplane drivers installed, (the fans do increase speed as room temperature increases.. I stripped the power supplies down and replaced the fans inside with quiet ones and this has redurced some noise but the main problem is the 2 system fans 60mm x 35, 60db).

I hope someone can help as i've spent about £100 so far on different fans.
