via epia m does not recognize all installed physical memory

Hi everyone.

I have a via epia m (nehemiah) with one ddr slot. I recently purchased a one gb 184 pin dimm for use in the single dimm socket. I had 512 mb installed originally. I installed the 1gb module, fired up the computer and noticed that it does not see the full 1 gb. It only shows 512 mb. There is video processor sharing on this system. The vid sharing is 32 gb, therefore the pysical memory showing is 480 mb when with video sharing it shouild be showing around 968 mb or so.

Does anyone have any idea what could be up here. This is turning out bo be a very frustrating problem.
