The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Issue with RAM on my home computer???  Memory upgrade related.

I have a home desktop that I recently just increased to 8G of RAM from 4G. The problem is that it seems like the computer actually got a lot slower after the upgrade.  The boot up time will take at least twice as long.  Copying a 6G file, would take up to 2 to 3 hours.  I tried to research the issue but no luck.  Can some one explain why?  All of the RAM are OCZ vista upgrade PC6400 DDR2 800HZ.  I have checked in the BISO and everything looks fine.  I'm running 64bits Vista and I can see all 8G but it is actually slower than running 4G.  Please advise.
