The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution.   • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Cant get video after installing new motherboards

Thanks for the help in advance. I’m having a real issue with a computer I have. I recently had an issue with a motherboard in a pc. I could not get the Sata or the IDE to recognize. I decided to thrash the mother board and get a new one. I purchased an ASUS motherboard and installed it into my case. I booted up the pc and everything appears ok and running but no video would project so I could never get to the point to check the bios or install a OS. I called I tried 4 different AGP cards and 2 different PCI cards but to no avail. ASUS trouble shoot and could not figure it out so they issued me a RMA to send it back. In the process I order a ECS motherboard from Tiger Direct with on board video. I received it today and install it. You guessed it no video again. ASUS suggested I try another power supply which I have on both motherboards and this did nothing for either. I have verified that the monitor works and I have tried onboard, PCI, AGP video cards on the new motherboard as well. I even install a new processor today. I’m stuck and not sure what my next move is. I’m convinced this case is haunted.Start Free Trial
