The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. A hard hardware question.

Problem: computer runs for around an hour, suddenly switches of by it selves, and after that it wont start at all: When I turn it on the green led lights up, the harddisk spins up, but nothing else happens.
Nothing on the screen.
I have tried 2 different motherboards, 2 different video cards, 2 sets of memory, 2 PSUs and 2 harddisks - but the problem is the same with all combinations of the components.
Now you might guess that it is the casing, but I have tried it outside with no greater luck.
Antec P180 case,Chill innovation 520w PSU, Asus P5N32-E, Kingston KVR?????800, Core Duo 2 E4300 CPU.
I have installed Vista both times - but when the POST message doesnt appear on startup it cant be a software problem... - Unless there are a virus/worm capabable of such things!?Start Free Trial
