The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Windows can't see RAID config

Asked by bizzie247 in Computer Motherboards, Hard Drives & Storage, Computer Hard Drives

Tags: , , , , ,

I have installed an Elitegroup A770M-A and 4 hard drives. In the BIOS I set up 2 drives for RAID 0 and 2 drives for RAID 1.
I am installing Win 2003. I am having the following problems:
"      Setting the BIOS to AHCI, and f6 loading the AHCI drivers, no drives are seen by Windows install
"      Setting the BIOS to RAID, and f6 loading the RAID drivers, no drives are seen by Windows install
"      Setting the BIOS to SATA, no drives are seen by Windows install
Setting the BIOS to IDE all drives are seen by Windows install and continues. The drives show up in the BIOS RAID config showing the configs as they were set up but in IDE mode Windows shows the drives as separate. When I accept this and continue the Windows install, I try to use the RAID application for Windows that came with the board but the error message says that no hardware found.
Once fully installed, Windows shows the RAID controller in system devises with no errors.
I have been working with this for 2 days changing all sorts of things to get the RAID to show in windows.
Could this just be a bad board or is there something that I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
