The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Mobo and Chip bad? Frustrating!

I have replaced everything on this computer with new parts EXCEPT the MoBo and chip.  It still is driving me nuts.  It will restart right in the middle of something BUT completely at random.  It may go for days maybe a week or two and then restart.  It doesn't leave behind any minidump files which would lead me to believe it's not Win XP.  I have attached the Everest Report for you to see. Rename the file back to .htm to view it.

 It could not figure out the MoBo name, but it is Intel, either the D102GGC2 or a D945GNT.  When it restarts the screen goes black and the HDD light stays lit constantly.  I push reset and it comes up on the Intel MoBo splash screen and sits there and does nothing.  I turn off the power and then turn it back on and that will usually do it, BUT not always.  Sometimes in may hangup at the splash screen again.  Yesterday it restarted 3 or 4 times, happening the same way as I described above.  Now it seems ok, but who knows when it will restart again.  Any suddestions before I scrap the MoBo and chip?Start Free Trial
