HP Pavilion BIOS freezes when I install more RAM

My HP Pavilion 6630 Desktop freezes when I try to install more RAM. It is using a Phoeniz motherboard, running PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0.

It originally had 64MB of RAM. It boots fine. After trying to install 2x 128MB SDRAM modules, the BIOS froze  on the splash screen. If I hold the ESC key, it will go past the screen normally. Then it will count the  system RAM, and freeze when it gets to 64MB. Then I have to hold the power for several seconds to turn it off.

If I put back the single 64MB stick, it boots fine.Start Free Trial
