Replaced motherboard and it worked briefly and now it's constantly crashing.

Asked by dovidf in Computer Motherboards, Power Supplies / UPS

An associate of mine Ihad to replace his motherboard which went well and all was working fine until today.

The system hung and he had to power down by holding the power button. Since then all the computer has been doing is turning on for about 10 secs then turning off.

He tried clearing the cosmos and he also removed all usb ports and video cards and  hard disk drives and so forth without any improvement.

He also tried a new power supply unit with no change.

The motherboard is asus NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP

What else should he try?

If the new main board is dead, what could have caused it?
