The Solution Rating System

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. dell dimension 4600c shutdown was due to a thermal problem

I have a client with a Dell Dim 4600C slim design desktop computer.  After turning on, it will shut-off after about 5 minutes.  Upon rebooting it will state something like 'Previous shutdown due to thermal event"
Here are some clues:
-The interior is not dusty
-Neither the PSU fan or the CPU fan are turning
-I swapped the PSU with another one and still go the same result as above

Any help will be appreciated!
