normally you should not need a driver.
is the disk seen in the bios? does it spin? if not, you have a bad disk or cable
Try other cables, connectors and disk..

ASRock M3A785GXH/128M SATA Controller driver - Windows 7.
Hi
I've just purchased ASRock M3A785GXH/128M. When I Try to install Windows 7 pro x64 on the system, Windows Want a driver for the Harddisk controller. But i can't find that driver.
I've tryed to download the hdd driver at this page: http://www.asrock.com/mb/d
And then put the driver on a USB pen and browsed to that pen under windows 7 installation. But Windows 7 wont accept those drivers...

install all drivers from the page
start with amd driver, sound, lan, hdd, vga
after that if still you haven't correct driver install try windows update.
