How can I reset the admin BIOS password on a HP 6730b busines laptop?
Hi,
I want to change the admin BIOS password but I don't remember the actual admin BIOS password on my laptop (HP 6730b business). I have try the following procedure but It's doesn't work for me :
- I have unplug the power cord
- I have remove the battery
- I have remove the RTC battery
- I have wait 45 minute
- I have install the RTC battery
- I have plug the power cord and boot the laptop
- The BIOS have reset the date and time but the BIOS doesn't remove the admin passord
Do have any other way to reset a BIOS password on a HP 6730b business... by hardware, by software... ? This model of laptop doesn't have any jumper.

I have make some research on the internet and your solution seem to be good but he ask me to pay for this solution and I don't wanna pay for this solution.

The unlock6 tool will only work if you get a number code after entering the password incorrectly 3 times on an HP laptop.

I have try unlock6 tool and it's said in the documentation that after entering 3 wrong password, the notebook responds with a message "system disabled" and provide an override password. But it's doesn't work on my laptop :
- I boot the laptop
- I select to enter inside the BIOS and the system ask me for the admin bios password. After entering 3 wrong password, this message appear : "Authentication Failed, System Locked. Press the power buton to restart the system" and no override password appear.

Then basically It will have to go back to HP.

I also facing the same problem that is HP protect tools asking me for the DOMAIN\mysusername password everytime it boots up, how can i remove this ? (i've reformetted the OS several times but how come this password still asking my AD integrated credentials ?
can anyone help me here please ?

please post your question in a separate thread !!
This is an HP program for removing the password, if you have access to another computer, you can run this program on it. After 3 unsuccessful logins, a number code will be generated on your laptop...put in this number code to retrieve the password.
Note: This is what I got out of HP's mouth...never used it myself so couldn't tell you anymore about it.
If this doesn't work, your best course of action (and probably only) would be just to bite the bullet and send it in.
