Hardware Checking Utilities
I have built a couple of PC's and know now that the hardware working correctly can be an uplifting experience. :)
I would like to get from all of you a comprehensive list of resources preferably free, such as memtest86+, to check hardware under stress for any errors or malfunctions. From hdd check ok no error to usb ports mobo nb, mosfet, anything you guys got.

So I uderstand better.
memtest tests for errors basically telling whether or not hardware is good. correct?
When using "benchmarks" is the test still going to reliably tell me whether or not there is a physical defective hardware.
I was under the impression that a "benchmark" is more fore a score than thorough hardware check. hardware ok.
I've purchased and used both futuremark 3D vantage and PC Mark vantage. I noticed all I really got was a number score(nothing like memtest).
Am I correct to assume that if something was defective, 3d Vantage and PC Mark vantage, might not have given me any indication?
