How do I troubleshoot a power supply?

I am troubleshooting a computer and I suspect the power supply.  The computer has some malware issues.  On boot up, windows begin to popup and processes begin to run and the computer eventually crashes.  Not a BSOD, no error message, just power off.  When I try to boot again, the computer will not reach the windows screen before powering down again.  After waiting fifteen minutes or so, the computer will start and the process begins again.  Am I correct to suspect the power supply?  Start Free Trial
