Browse All TopicsI have recently upgraded my power supply to a Corsair HX450, after doing so the motherboard will not post.
The motherboard I am using is a Gigabyte GV-K8N51PVMT-9 (nvidia 6150), which is a few years old.
The old PSU was setup with in a 20 pin atx configuration, and an additional 4 pin 12v power connector.
I connected the new PSU in the same manner, with no post (the screen flickers, nothing is shown on screen). The fans (PSU, CPU, System) all started up.
I also tried a 24 pin atx configuration and again the additional 4 pin 12v power connector, again the motherboard failed to post.
I then switched back to the old PSU, which worked fine. Is the new power supply broken, or am I missing something fundamental?
Thanks for any help.

are you able to try the new power supply on a different motherboard to confirm? Did you ensure the voltage switch on the back of the PSU was set properly?
try cutting the system back to basics, monitor, cpu, mobo, 1 stick of ram. will that post?
if so add 1 thing at a time and see where it ends, this could help you troubleshoot further.
