lol, its true. You need Windows XP 64bit to see up to 8gb of ram. The only catch is not all drivers work with the 64bit OS. My printer no longer works with the upgrade I made a month ago.

Yep. The patch is called "install 64-bit Windows XP".

Sorry, I'm being facetious, but that is what you'll have to do. 32-bit Windows OSes are only designed for 32-bit systems and will never see that other 1GB. So, you'll either have to reinstall with XP-64 or Vista-64. This is a limitation of 32-bit and is the case regardless of your hardware.
You can put the /3GB switch in your boot.ini to help Windows allocate user-mode virtual address space, but it really doesn't change things for you.
