Browse All TopicsI was fixing a computer today, a HP Pavilion Media Center a1619h Desktop PC. Windows XP was already installed. In device manager there were drivers missing, with a yellow markings. I went in on www.hp.com, software and drivers to find the original Drivers. Under Microsoft Windows XP there where no drivers. Under Original drivers there were 6 drivers.
The first one I installed was Fall 2006 Original Asus Modem Driver. It installed, and the yellow marking went away. Afterwards I found out it said "You must install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the system before installing these drivers". QUESTION; why was able to install it without service pack 2? At this time I did install Service Pack 2.
The second one, Fall 2006 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, did not install. This one also stated, "You must install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the system before installing these drivers". But the reason why it didn`t want to install was as the computer message screen said, and the HP instructions stated; "You must install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio bus driver on the system before installing these drivers". QUESTION; where do I find this driver and why is it not placed with the original drivers?
Last question, which might be partly related to the latter ones. After installing Service Pack 2, the Control Panel / System, confirmed this, while run / dxdiag only stated Windows XP. Why?
