Computer randomly shutting off
My computer keeps shutting off randomly. It seems to have been working all week just fine. I didn't install any new software or hardware either so I'm thinking it is a hardware issue.
The computer shuts off about 15 mins after I'm using it, especially when I'm playing World of Warcraft. I check my video temperature and it's at 49 degrees Celsius consistently when playing the game. However, this morning my computer was shut off, and I didn't have any game running on my computer over night.
The event logs aren't indicating any problems what I can see at the time it shuts down. I'm not even sure what to look for in the Event Log that could be causing this. I ran WhoCrashed but it said there's been no crashes on my computer. My temperatures seem just fine consistently too. Could this be my power supply going bad or unable to support it? I mean it's been working fine for a week since I built this system.

My video card is actually reaching 54 degrees Celsius with the game settings on high. I changed it to the lowest settings and the temperature is staying at 44 degrees Celsius. Computer hasn't shut down yet.

Well I guess that is my conclusion. The card is overheating and shutting down the computer. Because with my WoW settings on all the way low, it's running at 44 degrees Celsius and I've been playing for 20 - 30 minutes so far with no problems and no shutdowns.
How the hell can I make this card cooler? There's no other cards in any of my slots.

It really does sound like overheating.

Well I'm not sure now. I just reformatted back to regular Windows XP 32 bit. I didn't even play the game. I just started browsing the web and the computer shut down again.

The event is just stating the last reboot of the system if my memory serves me right.
I was reading some reviews on newegg and from what I read there are others having issues with their computer overheating. I would possible consider getting a different graphics card.

I just swapped it with a CoolerMaster Real Power Pro 750w ATX Power Supply. So I'm going to see how it goes. Interestingly, the video card is running at 38 degrees Celsius, which is 3 less than it was on the other power supply. Can power supplies change the temperature of video cards? My previous power supply had an adapter in order to hook into my video card, I wonder if that was the problem? Voltage issues?
Let me see how this run ones for a while. If the computer shuts off unexpectedly, I'll have to go without the video card to test further.

So far so good with the new Power Supply. No random shutdowns been using it for 2 hours now and playing WoW at max settings and running about 53 degrees C

Ok well nothing was running too hot in my computer, I even pasted the temperature readings from SIW in my original question.
It seems the power supply was the problem. I don't have any PS tester, but I did swap it with a Power Cooler 750W, and the computer has been running great for the 7 hours now and has not shut off or frozen.

I have checked the fans and they are still running fine and I made sure no wires were blocking them or anything.
Just ran the seagate tool and hard-drive has passed the scan tests I've run against it.
I did scan the ram a couple of times when I first put the system together with Memtest86 and no issues were found on it.
I am still using the computer right now and it hasn't shut down. So it seems that everytime I run World of Warcraft it will shutdown the computer about 10 - 15 minutes into playing it.
