I tried booting with the XP install cd with just the new drive installed and the XP install process said that it couldn't find any hard disk drives. So I am going to try the UBCD method.

Verifying DMI POOL DATA DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
I took an External Hard Drive apart to get a hold of just the hard drive itself. The hard drive is a SATA drive, I connected the drive into my computer along with my original hard drive which is to a SATA drive. When booting up the computer I get the following error "Verifying DMI POOL DATA DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" but when I disconnect the drive I boot fine into Windows XP. I am in AHCI Mode, I tried switching back to IDE and I still get the following error message. Any recommendations on how to fix the problem?

I got it work. I switched back into IDE mode and it booted up fine into Windows XP with both hard drives connect. I then had to right click my computer, then disk management, then I created an extended partition for Windows XP, so XP could see the drive because it said that it was unallocated. Then I switched back to AHCI mode and so far so good.

Try booting with the XP install cd and only the 'new' drive installed and let it wipe and repartition the drive.
Or boot from UBCD and use one of the hard drive utilities on it.
