Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. new pc p55 motherboard and i7 which one

Thinking of building a new pc based on gigabyte p55 ud5 and i7 860
I am not a gamer but I know having a decent video card may add to system resources through a gpu api so I am going for a expansive board with loads of pci-e connectors like the gigibyte p55 ud5.

1 question is this the correct way I do not know of any upgrade path for lga1156 whereas the lga1366 seems to have an upgrade path to six core cpu in late 2010
so is going lga1156 the correct way or is it better to go lga1366 and i7 920 d0 for the potential upgrade path
