GPU Appears to be Crashing
Hello,
I've recently rebuilt my PC with the following specs:
OS: Windows 8.1 x64
Monitors: Asus VG248 @ 144 Hz refresh rate / 1920 x 1080. Using Display Port.
GPU: Asus Strix Nvidia GTX 980
Audio: Razer Kraken 7.1
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0
SSD: AData SX900
RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @577MHz
Problems arise when I try to run games or my benchmark tool:
Dying Light
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
3D Mark
When I launch the game / program, it seems to be loading fine, then just as I'm about to resume play, the display goes dark and says there's no signal. I've combed through Event Viewer looking for clues, but I'm only seeing the errors related to the forced shutdown I must do every time to regain access to Windows.
-Video drivers are up-to-date
-I am currently not overclocking the CPU or GPU
-DP drivers for the display is up-to-date
-No errors or issues in DxDiag (see attached file)
-Complete system specs uploaded (see attached file)
Your insights will be much appreciated.

After reading your comment, I took a closer look at the video card. It has both an 8 and 6 pin power connector. Apparently, both need to be connected, because when I added another connection, the problem went away, and I'm getting WoW at 115 FPS on ultra.
