The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Latest Games crash and I have a 7600GS!

I have:

AMD Athlon XP 3000+ @ ~2.2GHz
1024MB PC3200 DDR RAM @ ~333MHz
NVidia GeForce 7600GS on AGP
Gigabyte GA7N400 Pro
Windows XP Pro SP2 with all updates up to late November 2006
June '07 DirectX 9

Latest non-beta drivers for everything (have tried beta Nvidia drivers)

My problem is:

When trying to run games that use the latest DirectX, as soon as they run I get the 'send error report' message.

Here are the games it has happened to so far:

- Colin McRae DiRT Demo
- LostPlanet: Extreme Condition DirectX9 Demo


EDIT:
I should have also mentioned that I have been running many older games that use DirectX 9.0C just fine.
eg: Resident Evil 4, Prey, Oblivion + Shivering Isles, Silent Hill 2, 3 ,4, Need for Speed: Carbon.

It seems to be only on demos that have been released in the past few weeks for games that are coming out soon.
