The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I have recently bought a Zotac GeForce 9800 GTX  ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145610 ) the motherboard i am using is an ASUS P5N-T Deluxe ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139415 )
The power supply i have is a cheap 1000w unbranded one ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135194 )

I have had the pc running using a XFX Geforce 9600 GT xt edition ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142639 ) which worked fine, but i am using this now in another machine and the Zotac 9800 is to big to fit into it the case on the other machine.

anyway, this is the problem, i start the pc up, lights flash on the keyboard like they should, i have no speaker on my case unfortunately so i can't tell if its beeping or not if i leave the pc a few moments i hear the xp start up theme tune, but i never once get any signal to the monitor. I have checked all power cables which are finei have checked it is properly seated in the PCI-Express slot i have tried tightening the dvi cable screws with a screwdriver to make sure there is no lose conection and still i get no video.
when i put the xfx 9600 GT back in it works fine, (I'm using it to type this now)

if anyone knows how to fix this or if the card is faulty or if i'm just using incompatible parts please let me know, i have been trawling the net now for the past 3 days trying to find an answer.Start Free Trial
