When I go into Add/Remove Programs, it lists NVIDIA Drivers, but not NVIDIA software separately. How do you get rid of the software without getting rid of the drivers?

Browse All TopicsI have an XP system with two monitors. I have been running the CRT and LCD displays just fine on my gforce 6700 GS card running Nvidia drivers. I had one screen at 1024x768, and the second screen (dual view) at 1400 x 1200. And I could slide windows from 1 screen to the other. Then I did a dreadful thing: I upgraded my Nvidia drivers. Now both screens are stuck at 1024x768. The options are there to increase them, but after I increase them and apply, it blinks and stays the same. I tried installing the old drivers (foolishly, no restore point), no good. I tried upgrading again. No good. How do I get back my ability to adjust the screen res?

You are going to have to uninstall all the Nvidia software then download and install just the drivers. You will then use the built in Windows Screen settings app.

You can also clean the Driver Cache to make sure it is not reloading the drivers that are causing the issue...
