Browse All Topics- I've just installed xp on this laptop(originally had Vista) and am having trouble with the video card install (...maybe because the chipset drivers aren't installed?....in device manager there are 3 'Base system device' question marks).

the video card is the GeForce Go 7150m the driver at the nvidia site shows this for the driver: http://www.nvidia.com/obje
when i install this driver is fails, saying that they are unable to locate this hardware.

- I still have 3 question marks in Device manager: other devices>Base system device (3 times)
Also, there is an exclamation mark under IEEE 1394 bus host controllor: the exclamation mark is listed besides the OHCI compliant IEEE Host controller

These are the base drivers for your motherboard.
Then try the GO driver again & post how that goes. It may be we need a specific version of the driver for your motherboard, I'm assunig this is something like an HP Pavilion dv9817cl
