I finally figured out that the card does not support TV out. I ended up getting a $20 VGA to Svideo adaptor off Amazon.

nvidia 9400m tv out
I have an integrated 9400m video card that has HDMI, DVI, and VGA out. I am looking to get either composite or svideo. I have a VGA to svideo & composite adaptor. It doesn't actually do any converting, it relies on the computer to send out the correct signal to the vga port.
I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and have the video out working fine for normal VGA out as well as DVI. I can't find any documentation to say if the 9400m supports tv out, and if it does, how to enable it or how to force it on. Currently, when I have the adaptor connected, the nvidia settings manager claims it is a CRT monitor and I get a black screen on my TV.
