3 30" monitors on 2 nVidia GPUs

I have set up a pretty high-end dell workstation for geological/siesmic software:
T5500 quad-core xeon
Windows XP pro 64-bit
2x nVidia Quadro FX 4600 GPUs (non SLI)
128GB SSD
2x 1TB HDD
3 Dell 30" lcds

the trouble is this:  I'm trying to get native resolution on all 3 monitors (2560x1600)...
on the first GPU all is well.  on the 2nd GPU, the 3rd monitor maxes out at 1280x800...:( Lameness then ensues.
