ATI Graphics Clone settings lost on restart

ATI Radeon HD4550 in XP sp3 machine, We purchased this card with the aim of dual output to VGA monitor and DVI projector using Clone feature.  However on restart of the machine, these settings are reset to the default primary monitor only.  Is there any way to retain the clone desktop setting on startup? Is there an option or tickbox we have missed in the ATI catalyst control centre settings? Have got latest driver from ATI. Maybe a reg hack? Script?

Normally the correct driver resolves this issue. However, you might need to update the system chipset or even the BIOS. If you update the BIOS please be sure that you update for your specific system or you will ruin it.

As I do not have your display card, please take a trial-and-error approach.

From the threads in a number of forums, playing around with the settings of a display card may lead to no display on your startup of XP.

But, do not panic, in such case, you can go to Safe mode to change back the settings of display card..

Besides, both monitors need to be of the same resolution or there will be only primary display.

So, if your secondary monitor's resolution is 1920 x 1080, your primary display need to support that resolution.
