Asked by: ninetwenty

Windows XP home edition used to pop up a window when I plugged in my camera.  This pop up allowed me to print, send to file, or send to a program and other options.  It also asked if I  wanted to always do the selected action.  Some how I must have checked send photos to Photoshop Elements. and to always do it.  Now I dont get the pop up box with several opions to check but my photos automatically go to Photoshop Elements.  I want my box back and for Photoshop Elements not to open.   How do I do it??? Thanks SR

Are you talking about the Windows Fax and Picture Viewer?  And you want to restore the use of that again?  See this web page:

No, it was a box with several choices as to what I could do with Photos as they downloaded.  I could download to a specific folder or to a specific program , priint, view, and others.  It was kinda lke a wizard to help with a camera to computer download.   At the bottom of the box there was a check if you wanted the computer to always do the same action.   thanks for your interest in my problem.

ninetwenty,

Uninstall and reinstall your camera software.

Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera for use with my computer, so I don't know much about this area.  Perhaps you're talking about the Photo Printing wizard described on this page?

War1, thanks but I never installed the software as I guess Plug and Play found the camera and the neat option box open and I made a choice and here come the photos from the camera to the selected file.

All right (wish I had a camera, then I'd probably know what you're talking about), maybe it's the Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard.  One page I found on losing that capability said it had been solved by running this free download from MS:

Nope, Not the  Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard.  Thanks for trying.

After reading the article on  Microsoft Scanner and Camera wizard.  Thats it.  NOW HOW DO I RESET IT. and tell it I want it to do another action?

by: LeeTutorPosted on 2007-03-10 at 19:50:31ID: 18696141

You download and run the Autoplay Repair wizard that I gave a link to before giving you the link on the Scanner and Camera wizard.

In My Computer there will be a new drive letter, that will be your camera's drive.
Right click on it, goto Properties, then the Autoplay tab.
