They will ship OS cd to you if you ordered it when purchase PC's, but those cd's are receovery cd for that system only, and can not shared with other.

Many computers arrive with only a "Restore" CD and separate partition including Windows (.cab) files on the hard drive.

Since I often talk to people that do not have the CD or misplaced them while moving, I thought it might be useful to get EE members to post any tips on replacing them. The question does not appear to have attracted much attention, so I suppose everyone here is better positioned for the end of Win XP!

Acer PCs are typically never shipped with CDs. A part of the OEM set up is the option to burn the necessary CDs for the factory default restoration. Note that for PCs with no burner, the CDs are still missing & the option to burn the CDs is still available - a bit short sighted, IMO.
