You should be able to set the RAM settings to automatic in most cases and it will run fine.
I hope this helps !

Browse All TopicsHello,
I just purchased a new PC that I custom built online, and the motherboard selection had the following message:
"Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR2 voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability."
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what steps to take to adjust my memory settings in the BIOS as indicated by this message. Thanks.

Because of the motherboard design and the version of the BIOS, each PC can say have different types of the BIOS and the way to gain access to the BIOS are totally different for your PC and my PC.
First, after you press the "Power" button, you need to have a look on the screen whether need to press the F2, Tab, F8 .... etc at the startup in order to access to the BIOS. (It will show just a few seconds, make sure you able to "catch" it) Sometimes i need to restart quite may times in order to "catch" the informations too ..... haha ......
Then, if you dunno any things in BIOS, the first time you access it, just to "view / look around" .... DON'T change any settings first ...... and when you want to exit, it will pop up a message ask you whether you want to save it before exit, select NO ....... Then the second times you access to BIOS, starting to search for the MEMORY settings under BIOS...... If you found already, then just change it depends on the options allowed you to do in the BIOS under MEMORY setting, Just change 1 setting in BIOS (MEMORY setting) without changing any settings together with that MEMORY setting (So after restart if got problems occur, you will know that is cause of the MEMORY setting you change just now, then will not confuse you with another settings in BIOS...

It depends on what mobo you have, as to where the settings are.
First try using the "Fx" key the bios says is for Best Preformance, when you go into the bios.
Does that help?
How about Fail Safe?
