Flash Drive does not work with Dell AIO 942 printer

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 computer running Windows XP home edition. I also have a Dell AIO 942 Printer. I have a SanDisk Cruzer Micro Flash drive. The Flash Drive works fine on other computers I use but when I added it to the Dimension it says device did not install properly and will not work. I had it working before I installed the printer so I removed the printer and the flash drive works fine. Plug the printer back in and the flash drive stops working. I tried changing the  drive letter for the flash drive as well and update the printer drives nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any idea how I can get both to work while they are both plugged in at the same time?

I have an 8300 board and have also had problems with USB flash drive/drive letter assignments. The 8300 has those stacks of usb ports in the back. What happens if you use those awkward down facing front ones?

I think it could be the USB Port in the CMOS get Disable ....... Under CMOS we are able to set whether Enable / Disable the port depends on the usage ...... When you on the PC, it will list out press F2 / Tab / F12 to enter setup (depends on the desing of the PC) ...... after that, just look around see whether any ports get Disable ....... (don't simple change anythings if you are not so sure what is that) ......

After "Enable" the USB ports I think will solve the problems ...... (I was thinking you plug the flash to the USB port after remove USB printer cable (in the same port) that makes your drive able to run, then you plug your USB printer cable to another USB port which has been Disable)
Are you plugging the thumb drive into the front ports or the rear ports?  Try doing that if you haven't already.

A powered USB did the trick.

Thanks
