How can I configure the boot sequence of Dell Dimension E310?

Hi Everyone;

        I wish to configure the first boot device to be the CDROM for purposes of wiping and reloading the operating system for a Dell Dimension E310.  While I know how to access the BIOS settings for this pc and navigate to Boot Sequence, I am unclear on the actual steps for getting it to boot from the CDROM first.  The BIOS menu does give a list of devices in this section which are available and ones which are not available.

         Any help regarding the steps necessary for configuring the BIOS so I can boot from a CD first will be greatly appreciated.

         Thank you.

Hi

        If I press F12, I do see an option relating to the CDROM.  However, it is making reference to Onboard or external USB CDROM.  This one is an internal CDROM.  There are other boot options, but, none of which make reference to the CDROM drive.

         I will need further help regarding this question.

        Thank you

When you receive the "Please select boot device: " menu after hitting F10 during boot-up, what options do you see?

Hi Everyone;

       I am happy to say the pc has booted from the CDROM and allowing me to use a boot cd with dBan to wipe the HDD.  Just a few things I would like to add to help explain how this problem was resolved.  At bootup, there were two options which appeared very briefly, F2 for Setup and F12 for Boot Options.  I selected F12 which took me into a menu of other options.  And, then, I selected the Onboard or external USB CDROM as the next option.  As jamietoner stated, the onboard cdrom is the internal cdrom.  I guess this part was a little confusing for me.  But, it makes sense sense the serial ATA controllers are onboard.

           In closing, I want to thank everyone for the suggestions and prompt feedback.
