UPDATE
I changed the HDD back to the original and left the memory in and everything boots up. The new drive is a WD 500GB PATA drive. The dirve is good and when I put it back in I can see it in Setup but no matter what setting I use (master, CS etc.) I still get the same error message.
THANKS!!

while in the setup, turn on [num lock] [caps lock] and [scroll lock] lights.
press [ctrl] [alt] [E] a couple of times and it will beep. This resets the plugnplay
press [ctrl] [alt] [F] and it will beep again. This resets the fixed disk autodetect.
If those don't make the error go away, you might try memory diagnostics.
