Hello,
My computer was only opening to the screen where it ask you if you want to go into safe mode and then was rebooting over and over to this screen. I couldn't get it to stop doing that so I hit F9 to bring up the screen to start computer in last know working point. Now it is running really slow and am needing some help.
My computer info --> HP Pent 4, 512mb ram, 2.6 Ghz, XP Home edition, SP3
Security--> AVG 8.5 up to date and recently ran, no virus
Malware Bytes, up to date, recently ran, no problems
Ad-Aware, up to date, no problems
Microsoft updates are up to date
I read another post on here for a slow computer that suggested:
--> msconfig
disable all services except microsoft
disable all startup items.
This seemed to allow the computer to be much faster but not like it should be.
I know these need to be turned back on but this was a test to see if it was hardware
related so I'm wondering what to do now.
