How to fix bad sector on Samsung HD

I have a Dell Dimension C521 desktop PC. Windows refuses to boot. I ran Seagate diags and a bad sector was discovered but it refused to fix it because it wasn't a Seagate drive. So I downloaded Samsung diags and tried to boot from the newly created disk but all I get is a failure to load because of an out of memory error. I burned again at 1x but still the same. All I want to do is fix 1 bad sector but no, it's impossible. Can anyone tell me is there any way to fix this next to buying a new hd?

Have you tried booting with FDD?
The other way is, you can connect your broken HDD to the different PC and run or Samsung tool or just chkdsk /f /r

You can also reinitialize the drive (AKA Low Level Format)

That should reformat the drive and exclude all bad sectors. After the format your drive will be slightly smaller since the bad sectors were ignored.

Try a LastXP v22 DVD. With this dvd you have a Samsung disk manager and a utility disk manager - HDD Regenerator.

I've had good success with GetDataBack from www.runtime.org.  Free to view files that it's found, costs to actually recover them.  Takes several hours to run though...

But as stated above, if there's a single problem with the code used for booting, you should be able to view the whole disk when set up as a slave...

- have you tried booting using this on a different pc, with the same bad disk fitted?

I'm surprised the Seagate diags ran on a different disk - they normally reject other mfrs...

You can also try to boot from Knoppix LIveCD or Gpartd LiveCD and look at the partition and run some diags from there. If you have to reinitialize the disk, this option would let you recover your data prior to the format.
