Best Software for PC diagnosis
Hi all.
I've got both Ultimate Boot and MadBoot. I've used the occasionally, not with much success.
I've tried all the hard disk tests on them and haven't found one that works.
So I Googled it and am testing out.
Passmark's Burn In Test
PD Diag
and
HD Tune Pro.
Anybody have an opinion on any of these or of something else that might rival the above?
I know this question has been asked before but not recently that I could see.
Advice from 2005 isn't too relevant nowadays, imho.
Thanks

Ooops.
I meant PC Diags, not PD Diags.
Duh!

Also, in addition to HD tests, the software I mentioned do tests on all other components of the pc.
Any better ones?
Anyone use any of these?

Not sure. It booted fine but would do no diagnostics. It just sat there.
Admittedly I didn't study it much and perhaps there is stuff I missed.
The pc had corrupt loggins so I did hd tests, found them to fail on occasion and exchanged the laptop at Best Buy today.
So I didn't get too much time to troubleshoot.
I would have liked too for my own knowledge but I thought that if there was HD probs and, since I could exchange it, I should.

Hey, Thanks Nobus!
I've already got a lot of that but it's nice to have a comprehensive list.
AND I finally got one of the Ultimate Boot Disk Utilities to actually help!
It's a good day!

I downloaded their utility from their site and burned the ISO to DVD ran it and it wouldn't work.
I've had success with WD and Seagate diags in the past but nothing else.
The reason I ask about the 3 apps I'm trying is that I ran them all on that bad Dell.
jPC Diags and Passmark reported no probs.
HD Tune Pro and the built in Chkdsk both said there were probs.
So which to believe?
Thanks
