How to remove iomega virtual cd?
I have a:
Iomega Prestige External Hard Drive 3TB
How to remove iomega virtual cd?
Even if I delete the virtual drive in Device Manager, when I reconnect the drive, it re-creates it again.
Thanks

Yes, unlike the WD Externals you can use all the available space but you'll probably want to partition the drive as NTFS.

Help me understand - why partition the drive as NTFS ?
My mistake - you did say "any computer".
What format were you planning to use?
Which operating systems were you intending to connect the drive to?

Yes, any computer.
Presumably NTFS.
Windows 7 64-bit

If you are going to stick with Windows 7 machines then it may be more efficient for you to format the drive as GPT but this might leave you with a problem if you ever need to connect it to a Windows XP system.
See: https://iomega-eu-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27760
This is really a legacy problem with the limitation on NTFS w.hich can address a maximum partition of 2.2TB.

What is GPT? Specific to Win7 o/s?
It's another way of formatting a drive where the capacity exceeds what NTFS can handle

It's available in Vista and Win 7 and is best supported in the 64-bit versions.

Do you know if after re-formatting the drive can be used for any computer ?
