Question

Error "167 no processor bios update" on IBM 300PL type 6862

Asked by: losgadas

Just bought two used ibm desktops, and when booting up get msg below:
Error "167 no processor bios update" on IBM 300PL type 6862

I guess this means the bios needs to be loaded or updated.  However, I've been to the ibm site and can not download the bios.  Been to other sites also, and do not seem to be able to download the bios anywhere.

Has anyone seen this problem?  is it really because of the bios? Anyone knows where I can download a copy of the bios for these computer?

Thanks in advance.

Snowguy:

Thanks for your first link.  I am glad to see something specific about it.

However, the second link is inaccessible.  The problem I am having is that these downloads are not working.
