I upgraded to a brand name 500w power supply and also tried another new processor. Same results- won't post. Took mb out of case to make sure wasn't grounding against case, tried to boot with only cpu, memory, and vid card- no luck.
So I sent mobo back to retailer for replacement. When the new mobo comes back and I still cannot boot, I'll know I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas here or is it obviously just me getting a bad mobo?

find the jumper on the mobo to reset the cmos settings. Do that and try booting. tell me if it works.
your PS isent the problem. so forget about that.
