Multi Bootable System - Replace Main HDD

Hi guys,

I have a 4 bootable partition system (all with WinXP Pro).

I need to replace my main C Hard Drive and I was wondering how to maintain the bootable address information.

Can I simply:

- Save my BOOT.INI file
- Replace C drive HDD
- Install WinXP on new HDD
- Replace the BOOT.ini file

Also, could someone please suggest a way to access my other bootable partitions while C is not operative?  I have an MSI KT6 Delta which allows me to choose the bootable drive (including the separate HDDs), but somehow they're not recognised.

Why not use a Cloning program like Ghost, Acronis, Drive image etc to clone what is on that disk to the other disk?

I'm not too sure I follow.  
I need to replace the hard drive because of an intermittend power fault on it.  It'll only take me a day or two to reconfigure the whole thing.
What would be the benefit of cloning 160GB worth of data?
Is that to access the other partitions in the meantime?

Umm cloning means that the cloning program usually will copy one HDD to another HDD. I mean I do use cloning to copy one HDD to another, that way if my current HDD fails I can plug in the HDD that is cloned and not miss a beat

if all your partition is in WinXP Pro, then you should be able to look at it by slaving with your new HDD. go to Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management and you can start repartitioning your new HDD and also see your salve drive there.

Don't do a copy of Boot.ini, as you might messup the new drive.
