Browse All TopicsI have a compaq Deskpro 4000 that I would like to put in a 9 gig hard drive. But when I do I get a 1790-Disk 0 Error. However I can boot with a 3 gig hard drive and have the 9 gig hard drive as the 2nd disk drive and partition it with 3 gig partitions and all is fine.
Is there a way in the bois to get it to recognize a larger hard drive?
If so I am also having trouble getting into the compaq bois.
Thanks

That's a really old pc - if there is no update in which to flash the BIOS from Dell's website, you can get a PCI IDE card that will recognize newer drives: http://www.newegg.com/app/ ViewProduc tDesc.asp? descriptio n=16- 102-0 27&depa=1
