Question : My GA-K8NXP-SLI MB is Identified as GIGABYTE NF-CK804 by Belarc Advisor (v.7.0m). Belarc identifies correctly my other system 8KNXPU. Why is the GA-K8NXP-SLI MB incorrectly ID as the NF-CK804? Yes, I have two complete and separate computer systems.
BELARC ADVISOR:
Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. NF-CK804 x.x
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. F6 12/28/2004
The answer I received was not helpful due to language barrier or failed to read entire above sentence:
Answer : Hello,
What kind of software you are using to identify the board?
If you are using software it may not read correct, there is only 1 K8NXP SLI board available.
Thank you
If anyone reading this who has a GA-K8NXP-SLI MoBo would be so kind as to download a copy of BelArc Advisor; current version is 7.0m, and see what BelArc Advisor reports your MoBo to be. It could be that some boards were made with the NF-CK804, but are, and mine is, marked GA-K8NXP-SLI.
Thanks,
Kuma

Thank you nobus:
Perhaps I put too much faith in BelArc. They may have a glitch in their program.
Everest ID correctly. You win the points. BTW, BelArc still has not answered my email.

As far as I can see, belarc system advisor runs under windows, and so it will get most info from the drivers installed in windows or from what windows has already identified. Therefore such programs can't really be relied on to get exact info for your system. Maybe you could try downloading the newest drivers for your mainboard and installing them, then check the system with belarc advisor again...
A Command line tool may be more reliable in identifying your hardware because there isn't much OS overhead. It will be unlikely though, that this tool will be able to positively identify your board to a certain brandname and model number.
