How should I setup a new DELL desktop to make it easy to recover problems that I might encounter?
New desktop is a DELL 5100 with an 80gb drive and 512 MB of memory with a 3.2 ghz processor. I plan to install a 250 gb drive as a second disk for backup and recovery. I ordered the Dell system system to replace a desktop which recently had a disk crash. I have over 3000 digital images stored on the desktop and came very close to losing all of them plus numerous important documents.
I am going to install a second drive in the new desktop. I would very much appreciate some guidance in how to set up specific partitions on each of the drives (mirrors perhaps) so that if I have any type of hardware of software failure, I would have an excellent chance of recovering in a short period of time. Your help is appreciated.
