i set CDROM to boot first and it halted on ACPI controller again but then proceededto windows setup screen...im installing now, ill post after after its done and i reboot...thanks

I have an identical problem as this post, but when I reset the CMOS as he did, it did not fix it, PLS help.

PS...the only difference between his problem and mine is that: I just bought this computer and finished building it an hour ago, it booted once, and began to install windows but i had to restart because my KB wasnt plugged in, and when i rebooted that is when it halted on ACPI controller...

during install, when it says at the bottom line to hit F6, hit F5 to install the standard ACPI.
Also check in your bios if ACPI is enabled
