My CD drive cant see folders on my desktop ~ but can on my notebook ??

Hi,

My friend recently brought round a cd with photos on which he burnt with nero on his machine.

He brought the cd round here and we cannot see the photo folders on my desktop, however if i insert the cd in my notebook i can see all of them fine.

What is wrong here?

It depends on the capabilities of the cd player as to whether it can read burned discs or not.Older models didn't have good capabilities.

Well yes

Apart from i have just started playing a game called viet-cong and every now and then it go's very slow as if its lagging!

Could this be the drive is knackered?

It is likely. Get a new one, they are cheap these days, you could even get yourselve a writer.
