asked on
4GB of memory on WinXP SP2?
I'm building a machine right now based around a Pentium D 820 processor and an Intel D945Pvs motherboard. Right now I have 2GB of DDR2 memory on there, and I'd like to install another 2GB. I've heard that Win XP SP2 has a limit of 2GB though -- is that true? The motherboard supports up to 4GB . . .
Also the 2GB I have right now is running dual channel -- do I have to buy the exact same modules to run all 4GB dual channel? Or is it enough to match the speed/latency?
Thanks!
