If you have a drive with bad sectors, it is better to replace the drive than to try to fix it, especially if it is only 80GB. However, you should test the drive using the manufacturer's diagnostic utility on the UltimateBootCD: http://www.ultimatebootcd. com/. You can also try Spinrite to mark the sectors as bad and hope for the best: http://www.grc.com/spinrit e.htm
