Question

How to remove Kaseya agent

Asked by: menreeq

Just picked up a new client.  The previous consulting firm used Kaseya and has the Kaseya agent installed on all network workstations - looks like it was deployed.  How can I remove this agent and service, can't find any way to uninstall it from add remove and there isn't an obvious uninstall file for it.  Really don't want to have to clean the registry...

Thanks!

First look for the installation source, sometimes when running the installer on a system that has the software installed will uninstall it. If that doesn't help,

Download the latest version of HijackThis

http://www.hijackthis.de

(Click on the „Directdownload“ link).

run it and save the log. Paste the log to the following website

http://www.hijackthis.de/en

Follow the following exactly:

At the bottom of the page you'll see a "ANALYZE" button. Click it and you will have an analysis of your log. Now a new button, "SAVE ANALYSIS" will show up at the bottom. Your analyzed log will be saved to a page on that homepage, of which you can post the URL here. I should then be able to see if there is any software causing problems.

I fount the answer on my own.  The previous admin ran scripts to remove the Kaseya agent.  It can be uninstalled by running the following command in start>run

"%programfiles%\InstallShield Installation Information\{48C76121-4F90-11D5-9884-0050BA85A903}\Setup.exe" UNINSTALL

Thanks for trying...

Sorry, in my last comment I said that "The previous admin ran scripts to remove the Kaseya agent" - I misspoke.  I meant to say that the previous admin ran scripts to HIDE the Kaseya agent.

Use the command below to uninstall it whenever it is hidden.

"%programfiles%\InstallShield Installation Information\{48C76121-4F90-11D5-9884-0050BA85A903}\Setup.exe" UNINSTALL
